I started this project with a simple question: could a small knowledge platform help me find the useful parts of my own notes faster? The answer was yes, but only after I stopped treating retrieval as the entire product.
Retrieval is a product decision
A good answer depends on which sources are trusted, how much context is enough, and what the user should see when confidence is low. Those decisions are visible in every interaction, even when the model is working well.
I try to keep source documents easy to inspect, show citations close to the claims they support, and make an empty result useful instead of pretending certainty. These small choices make the platform feel trustworthy when the answer is incomplete.

The next iteration will focus less on adding features and more on evaluating real questions. A small test set will tell me whether the system is becoming more useful, rather than merely more impressive in a demo.
